Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Tuesday the two sides have agreed to set up a joint team to discuss policy options for countering militancy. Qureshi said he and Holbrooke will lead that task force.

-:P`CN Chinese officials say errant fireworks are to blame for sparking the fire that destroyed a hotel next to the new CCTV headquarters building in downtown Beijing. Alison Klayman reports.
d h& > E S9r+Nsn U/|JAg # $ &KkZ On the 15th and final night of the Lunar New Year celebration Monday, fireworks exploded over every street corner in Beijing. But investigators suspected it was planned fireworks display that set fire to the unoccupied Mandarin Oriental hotel, a high-rise property under construction and owned by China Central Television. Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu made these comments to reporters on Tuesday. Jiang said authorities believe the fire was caused by illegal fireworks set off by people working with the television broadcaster. Reports indicate that CCTV went against police orders and hired a company to launch fireworks that were much powerful than the general public is permitted to use. Spokeswoman Jiang said the fire began around 8: 30 p. m, Monday night and was extinguished by 2: 00 a. m. on Tuesday. Jiang says almost 600 firefighters were fighting the blaze. Victoria State Premier John Brumby told reporters Tuesday that the coroner has identified 50 bodies that have not been counted in the official death toll, which now stands at 181.
