) 2Hl\"F j(\jYH> You will undertake independent research in the development of autonomous, deployable marine devices that use genomic or proteomic assays to sense microbes in marine system.

K}&3 - Miniaturise and automate existing genomic and/or proteomic lab-based assays. Test the miniaturised assays in the lab GZ/vUe
- Evaluate and apply fluorescent and/or electronic detection of macromolecular interactions )L:p.E
- Build and integrate a miniaturised assay module into a modified, automated microbial sampler ;]SP~kG
- Develop skills in teamwork, science planning and project management pJ]i)$M

- A PhD, in Electronic Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering or Molecular Sciences (with a strong emphasis on instrumentation) for appointment as a Post doctoral Fellow t@\op}Z-M
- A Bachelor of Engineering and relevant research experience (with a strong emphasis on instrumentation) for appointment as a Research Projects Officer. Qape DU;
- Experience in the design, testing and prototyping of small electromechanical systems such as marine instruments, medical diagnostic devices or biosensors. }Ii5[nRN
- Experience in software engineering at computer and microcontroller level for the control of sensor devices. VCUEzR0
- Ability to design and develop instruments that are suitable for deployment in harsh environments. 'w5g s}1D
- Experience with the development of optical and/or electronic detection. MUd
