You will undertake independent research in the development of autonomous, deployable marine devices that use genomic or proteomic assays to sense microbes in marine system.

- Evaluate and apply fluorescent and/or electronic detection of macromolecular interactions 3

- Build and integrate a miniaturised assay module into a modified, automated microbial sampler +<WNAmh
- Develop skills in teamwork, science planning and project management wLo<gA6;

To be successful you will have: (Z Q?1Qxo
- A PhD, in Electronic Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering or Molecular Sciences (with a strong emphasis on instrumentation) for appointment as a Post doctoral Fellow 5]2 p>%G
- A Bachelor of Engineering and relevant research experience (with a strong emphasis on instrumentation) for appointment as a Research Projects Officer. =lx~tSiS
- Experience in the design, testing and prototyping of small electromechanical systems such as marine instruments, medical diagnostic devices or biosensors. cPX^4d~9
- Experience in software engineering at computer and microcontroller level for the control of sensor devices. E*QLw*H
- Ability to design and develop instruments that are suitable for deployment in harsh environments. VBK |*Tl
- Experience with the development of optical and/or electronic detection. U=[isi+7
- Ability to work with a broad range of people from varying research backgrounds and evidence of strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to publish the results of scientific research in scientific journals. eCG{KCM~_Z
